Reading and Writing - Keep It Cozy

On Monday, I wrote about fall activities for the family, but also for you. I know most of us like to write or read, or both, and there's a better chance for this to get done if we have the right environment.

For writing, I love being comfortable. What makes writing easier for me?

Wearing slippers and sweats
Having something to drink - either coffee/tea, or diet Pepsi
Chocolate
Sometimes mood music or something on the television (I like background noise)

I also like to use my laptop and sit on the couch.

I like to be cozy for reading as well, though I prefer to do it at night, warm in bed and without any distractions.

For you writers out there, what kind of environment keeps you productive? And for you readers, where do you like to curl up with a good book?

I'm with you! I have a laptop so theoretically I could write anywhere, and I've tried. But I am most productive in our basement, on a very old and comfy loveseat. With silence as my soundtrack.

Of course, ideally it'd been snowing outside the window and the fire would be roaring, but that's not practical all the time! :)

I recently got my first laptop, so I'm curious to see if I prefer writing on it or on my large screen desktop. Right now I'm blog reading while kicking back in my comfy armchair with my feet in front of the pellet stove. Aaah!

Comfy pajamas, coffee, quiet house.

I usually need a quiet house to write, which is harder and harder to come by these days. :) As for reading, I like to read anywhere that's comfy--the couch, my favorite leather recliner, or bed. :)

Productive? No kids in the house.
